Fehinti Balogun C4C keynote

Fehinti Balogun trained at RADA.

He was most recently seen as the main antagonist AMOS CRANE in the no1 Apple TV+ series ‘Down Cemetery Road’, for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He finished shooting a starring role in Apple and A24 series The Husbands earlier this year.

Fehinti will soon appear as a main role in the upcoming Plan B/BBC Film feature ‘The Roots Manoeuvre’, and in JJ Abrams’ Ghostwriter. Before this, Fehinti appeared in the stand-out regular role of Mishka in the television series ‘A Gentleman in Moscow’ opposite Ewan McGregor.

As an actor he has worked in theatre, film, and television, with recent performances in BBC’s multi award-winning TV drama I May Destroy You, ITV’s Viewpoint, the Denis Villeneuve hit feature film Dune, the hit Netflix series The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself and the original West End theatre production of Walden. Other projects include independent film Haar, The Blue Door at Bath Theatre Royal; BBC Radio 4’s retelling of Oliver Twist, the West End production of The Importance of Being Earnest and King Lear at the Almeida.

In 2021, Fehinti wrote and starred in a multi-platform stage production/feature film/digital piece called Can I Live? The piece, co-produced by Complicité, tells his story with spoken word, rap, theatre, animation and scientific fact. It charts a course through the fundamental issues underpinning the climate emergency, identifying the intimate relationship between the environmental crisis & the global struggle for social justice, and sharing how, as a young Black British man, he has found his place in the climate movement. The piece premiered at the Barbican in London and was screened and discussed in the main programme at COP26 in Glasgow.

In addition to this work Fehinti also delivers talks (including a TED talk with over 1m views) on climate change aimed at a more rounded inclusion in the conversation on behalf of the Extinction Rebellion. As a result of these talks Fehinti has toured around the UK and Europe discussing climate change, taking part in international climate discussions, discovering and discussing the wider climate movement and its erased work.
