Marina Bay Sands Sustainability Projects

Marina Bay Sands has a firm foundation in sustainability, integrated into its architecture, business operations and staff culture from the very beginning. Guided by its Sands ECO360 global sustainability programme, its focus areas span climate response and water stewardship to recycling, circularity, responsible sourcing and biodiversity.

Sands ECO360 is a comprehensive sustainability programme, aligned with internationally recognised frameworks such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a specific focus on the objectives most relevant to the hospitality and resorts operations in the areas of energy, water, waste, responsible sourcing and biodiversity.

Marina Bay Sands is committed to the Science Based Targets Initiative, pledging to reduce Las Vegas Sands’ Greenhouse Gas emissions by 30 per cent by 2025, against a 2018 baseline. Over the past 10 years, the property has reduced its carbon footprint by 19 per cent – an achievement that it is heartened by.

The integrated resort has been recognised through global and local accreditations, including ISO14001 and ISO20121 and the LEED Platinum status for ArtScience Museum and Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre.
